A's and A's lyric

VERSE

Subject fading slowly,
You light the surface,
Living in denial,
And say it like it's worth,
I'm feeling vulnerable, I'm feeling miserable,
I'm feeling laughable,
Fallen heart burns

CHORUS

Get total in control,
Picture perfect with the hole,
Abusing love control,
Bleeding through inner soul

VERSE

Light it on October,
And slaughter to the worms,
Sentimental Value,
To you it's just a word,
Getting hurt is the norm,
Getting hurt on your own,
Seeing you on the phone,
Singing A's and A's alone

OUTRO

It's not so innocent,
It's not so innocent,
It's not so innocent
(When you Let go)

Review on undead series by jakarta post

Be cool, be undead at the Palate

Er Audy Zandri, The Jakarta Post | Sun, 12/05/2010 4:08 PM | Supplement

There will always be that time when we want to go back to our childhood. With no real problems to deal with, our days were mostly divided between gobbling down food and dissecting toys.
Yet adult life has its own merits. Things that were formerly forbidden are now free to enjoy, from something as simple as driving a car, entering the local pub or buying tickets for a gore movie at a local theatre to witnessing Marilyn Manson peeing on stage at his concert.
Come to think of it, you won’t see anyone peeing on stage or biting a chicken’s head off at the event we’re talking about here. But with a quirky name and a scary poster to start, it’s going to be awesome.
The Undead Series, is not about half-rotten-humans stupidly staggering in your direction. It is in fact a series of concerts held annually to keep independent music alive in Malaysia.
Bands who want to show what they’ve got — ranging from skills, merchandize to hair style — perform here for the masses, who can shop at the surrounding bazaars if they are bored.
The idea is to have a melting pot for the pot-heads, a gathering for the independents, an event that is aimed at building a community, a fellowship of musicians and music fans alike to share their works, useful information about the music scene and sell their band’s merchandize.
Taking place at the Palate Pallete restaurant at Jalan Mesui No. 21, 50200 Kuala Lumpur, this year’s The Undead Series 1 will present local indie stars like The Maharajah Commission, Pusher, The Garrison, Swampy Zombie Fever and The Fridays. The event will last all night from 9:30 p.m. on Friday — after a special request posted by The Fridays —, Dec. 10, 2010. Purchase a drink, and you can go in without paying for tickets. But here’s the thing, you’d have to be older than 18 years old to buy that drink.
It’s an interesting place this restaurant. Voted as “One of the Great Bars of the World” by Lonely Planet, named “Best Bar” for three years in a row by Juice Magazine and recognized as “one of Asia’s finest restaurants” by the Miele Guide in 2009 and 2010, Palate Pallette stands out because its menu items are backed up by dozens of interesting events, including free movie screenings, book signing events and psychedelic trance parties.
An event named “Ink and Drink”, a special gathering for those with tattoos, takes place every Wednesday night at the restaurant, offering special discounts for tattooed customers, presenting a fully tattooed belly dancer and inviting a different tattoo studio every month to show off their bits, do tattoos live and offering special tattoo deals for tattoo-less hungry lads who desperately want a meal discount.

Review: Dance Punk Party #6

Last Friday night, Kuala Lumpur’s dance-punk scene lit up in a vibrant swarm of glow sticks and movement as the famed Dance Punk Party returned for its sixth installment and held for the first time at Number One CafĂ©, Kuala Lumpur -- its largest venue to date. The tri-monthly event has been around for two years now, becoming a staple for KL giggers looking for a spirited place to rock out and dance about together in a brigade of like-minded people.
The doors opened at 9PM and the boys of The Fridays immediately greet you with one hell of a powerful song. They’ve been playing at DPP since some of its earlier gigs, playing five songs that night while switching effortlessly from the middle-eastern influenced “Kosher” to some of the speediest beats on the evening’s bill. It really wasn’t hard to see why they’re often regarded as the best-kept secret of Malaysia’s independent scene.
ENRAI was up next, tearing up the venue with three songs. Frontman Ija was a burst of contagious energy, moving across the stage like a shaman with loose-limbs swaying as the band conjured a soundscape. Seeing them live, you’d have no idea that they didn’t have a proper jamming session prior to the event. Afterwards came Swampy Zombie Fever, starting out with a blues-infested tune before belting out some more alternative tracks.
By the time Parttimelovers took the stage, a pretty tight groove had begun to emerge. People danced behind a cloud of smoke, confetti and neon sticks. This band has a sound that merges very well with indie kids -- part The Killers, part Joy Division, yet infused with their own indie-rock beats nevertheless.
M.O.I.S.T is bundle of danceable fun, moving people yet again with their quick beats, fast disco-esque cymbals and catchy riffs. Definitely a joy for first-time listeners and those who have familiarized themselves with the band.
It was sad to see the absence of Tenderfist, who had to cancel their set due to a sudden emergency. But the last band, The Otherside Orchestra, quickly filled up the disappointment with a solid set, sending the crowd to a mild frenzy. The set was hyped by moving, flashing lights, the disco ball rotating in a climatic order. The Otherside Orchestra was the only band of the night with a frontwoman, and with songs like “Try” and “Hold My Hand”, they succeeded in giving the audience a satisfactory show.
After the lights went on, the crowd started to split, but a handful of people stayed and spent some time dancing to DJ Xes Xes Loveseat’s tunes. They formed a circle and took turns jumping and cart wheeling over a bag in the middle, clapping their hands to the beat. It was amusing and intimate, and it’s a shame most of the crowd had already left.
And so the sixth Dance Punk Party has ended. A very well-run event that would’ve been better if the turnout was greater. It’s still three months away to the next one.

POST #100 - All Things Partimelovers

Well, as announced by the lead singer Zulfadli himself on that night (Dance Punk Party 6), here with the post number 100 we have embedded a video of Partimelovers' The Wknd Sessions, um, session, of the song entitled "Helah". I don't really feel obligated to write a review of the gig (uh, party, sorry) itself since Junk has done a rather good job themselves here (Picture credit goes to them as well). Besides, I was there that night strictly only for Partimelovers and The Otherside Orchestra. See the third post below this one, the one with the poster for the event itself? See they stated clearly that the party would start at 6? That has definitely got to be a misprint because if my unreliable time record system is not mistaken, the gig only started at ten past nine. Not that it's a complaint.

Then, I also came across a review of the venue itself, One Cafe, which came out very helpful because as how the reviewer has pointed out, the place really is a bit tricky to find. Not that it is hidden, but just quite unexpected. Drive along the Jalan T.A.R. everyday and you'll only see the food court. The other issue that the reviewer had with the place is the bad sound system, which I find it to be rather spot on too. But I didn't got the chance to check out the toilet, or the cheap drinks.

Though the party is already in its' sixth installment, the crowd for that night I have to say was pretty 'thin' and uh, rather selective. 'Thin' in the sense that for the first three bands to perform (The Fridays, Enrai, Swampy Zombie Fever), the crowd was made up of almost entirely exclusively of band members of other performing bands, friends of the band, friends of the other performing bands, friends of friends of the band, and friends of friends of the other performing bands. It's a very small community from the outset. Reminds me of the Shoegazing scene - famously being described as the scene that celebrates itself, you pretty much get the idea where that tag came from. It was only by the time Partimelovers hit the stage that the crowd starts to build up and some movement worthy of making it a lively party breaks out on the dance floor. But the grand prize, of course, I have to say, goes to The Otherside Orchestra. Complete with disco lights strobing in the back of Izwin, the mood that they created with their set is pure awesome. The crowd went absolute bonkers. What more would you ask for? Whether you're one of the scene kids, or friends of friends of friends of the band, or drunk Caucasians, everyone on that night can feel the groove in the air, everyone had a generally good time. Dance Punk Party, for many of its' shortcomings, does have its winning charm as well. But if DPP were to take off into the stratosphere, they have to get off of hosting at lousy venues, and start promoting the event more aggressively.

And perhaps proofread the poster as well.

The Damned

Ghost is a mist of delusion,
Collaborating the scene as it is today,
Lasted by degree of hypocrisy,
To the last minute of democracy

Gather up children of the night,
Lay waste the city that we fight,
Model it to the kingdom come,
On horizon zone we stand and go home,

Talent hidden in every eyes,
But none is wicked then the light,
Unashamed and unaware,
They bring their torch to burn the damned
